Sinn Féin meets with with GAA’s Ulster Council

Sinn Féin Deputy Leader Michelle O’Neill led a party delegation, including Sinead Ennis MLA and Paul Maskey MP to meet with the GAA’s Ulster Council.

Sinead Ennis MLA in a statement said;

“We discussed the lack of GAA coverage in the north from the BBC as well as other issues”

“Sinn Féin believes that the BBC must do more for northern Gaels and this includes coverage for Down Senior mens games such as there game on Saturday against Antrim”

“Although this game as well as others are covered online through BBC iPlayer in many parts of my constituency broadband coverage is not good enough to view in many areas.

“There is a clear demand from audiences who wish to see these major games get the coverage they deserve”

“We put a number of suggestions to the Ulster Council to attempt to move this forward.”
