Sinn Féin and Castlewellan Councillor Róisín Howell has described play park facilities in Castlewellan as being in a completely unacceptable state.
The local councilor said;
‘After being contacted by numerous parents and residents in Castlewellan they have raised their concerns regarding the play facilities in the area.’
‘The current facilities located near the Bunscoil and St Malachy’s Drive is facing a big problem with both litter and overgrown weeds and grass in the facility itself.’
‘Some residents who live in houses beside the playpark were becoming so unsatisfied that they no longer allow their children to play in the area due to this problem.’
The Castlewellan Councillor concluded saying;
‘I Find this completely unacceptable and I will be asking that the council officials begin to take action to solve this problem including more regular litter picks of the area.’
