Pól Ó Gribín
Pól has lived all his life in the Drumgooland area and his family has deep roots in the locality.
A keen GAA enthusiast and past pupil of St Malachy’s High School in Castlewellan, Pól has for a number of years been a very active member of Sinn Féin, he is the chair of the local McNulty Magorrian Sinn Féín Cumann and won the first ever Sinn Féin seat in the Dromore Ward of Banbridge Council.
The current chair of Banbridge council’s Public Services Liaison Committee, Pól is the first Sinn Féin representative to hold a chairmanship on the council. Pól comes from a farming background and isacutely aware of the current difficulties facing rural communities.
A hard working community activist, he hashelped establish a Neighbourhood Watch Scheme in the Drumgooland area as well assecuring funding from a range of statutory agencies for road improvements and brandnew play facilities.
He has worked alongside party colleague Chris Hazzard MLA to deliver a number of projects in the Drumaroad, Drumaness and Loughinisland area, including improvements tothe road infrastructure and better public transport facilities for the village.
