Slieve Croob Councillor Róisin Howell has raised her concerns regarding the lack of disabled access to picnic benches in Dundrum village.
The Sinn Féin councillor said;
‘I will be raising this issue with council officials, I feel it is completely unacceptable that this area has no suitable access for disabled visitors to the area.’
‘We as a council must be doing everything we can to make all facilities and locations owned by the council accessible to disabled people. This is not just an issue for this particular location but a problem across the region.’
‘South Down relies a lot this time of year on a strong tourist economy and I feel measures such as sufficient disabled access across the board is vitally important in encouraging others to visit.’
