Sinn Féin’s Chris Hazzard MP has asked local Roads officials to look at resurfacing a busy stretch of the A24 Belfast Road just outside Ballynahinch.
Mr Hazzard said:
“A few years ago a resurfacing scheme from Ballynahinch to the Creevytenant Road was a great success, and went a long way to improving the safety of this very busy road.
“In recent months however the final stretch of the road from the Creevytenant junction to the new Temple roundabout has become increasingly dangerous as large potholes and surface defects causes motorists to swerve and brake suddenly.
“I have therefore asked local Roads officials to urgently look at this stretch of road, and explore the possibility of resurfacing this very busy road before there is a serious collision in the time ahead.”
