Sinn Féin MLA Emma Rogan has criticised recent Anti-social behaviour along the Colmcille Road in Downpatrick.
Rogan in a statement said;
‘I have been contacted by multiple residents expressing their anger at actions taken by a group of young people who threw stones at a car causing £800 worth of damage late on Wednesday night.’
‘This was not the only reports I received, with other resident’s reporting their houses being attacked using stones and eggs’.
‘These actions are shocking, and it is made worse by the fact that this is not an individual occasion. Residents are constantly facing antisocial behaviour in this area.’
‘I would tell these young people carrying out these attacks, enough is enough. They must understand that their actions will have consequences’.
‘It is important that parents know that they can stop these attacks, make sure that you know where your children are in the evenings. We don’t want to see young people get criminal convictions that will carry on with them for the rest of their lives and affect their futures.’
‘This is not a reflection of all the young people of the area, many of whom are just as shocked by these attacks.’
‘I would urge anyone who has information regarding these recent attacks should come forward and contact the PSNI 101′.
