Sinn Féin Councillor Róisín Howell has called on the Department of Infrastructure to open an investigation into improving traffic management at the junction of the School Hill Road and Main Street Dundrum.
Councillor Howell who represents Slieve Croob DEA said;
‘Currently, there seems to be an issue with drivers unable to turn onto and exit the School Road, I will be in contact with the DFI Road Service in order that they review this junction and see if there are any solutions to this problem’.
‘The problem is escalated in the summer months when there are large volumes of traffic traveling to and from Newcastle, as well as peak times during the mornings and evenings’.
‘I hope this issue can be resolved as soon as possible as I knowfrom speaking to many residents and businesses that they are being very negatively affected by this issue’.
